McAfee Installation error on Windows: Error code 0

Error code 0 appears when installation of McAfee fails and display a red banner on the screen. 



To resolve the issue, use the methods listed below:

Run the Pre-Install tool

When you see the error, click Done to close the dialog box, and then follow these steps:

  • Download the Pre-Install Tool.

  • Double-click the Pre-Install_Tool.exe file, and follow the prompts.

  • Read the warning message, and click OK to agree to the changes.

  • After the Preinstall Tool completes:

  • Click OK.

  • Click Close.

  • Restart your computer.
